Who am I?

I created this website to showcase my creations and share with you the various processes and steps involved in bringing them to life.

“If, like me, you love creating things with your hands, have a preference for unique, handcrafted items, are a bit of a jack-of-all-trades, and enjoy learning and discovering new techniques, then you’ve come to the right place!”

History and Philosophy

Passionate about cars from a very young age (thanks to my mechanic father), I trained as a vehicle body builder, during which time I learned to work with all kinds of materials, such as metals, fiberglass, paint, etc., as well as weight distribution, chassis and body construction and modification, followed by a few years working in a design office.

Being quite creative and interested in DIY in general, I also started making all sorts of things in my spare time for myself and my loved ones. At first, these were simple, basic objects. But as time went on, and as I grew to enjoy it, I learned to work with new materials and techniques, improved my skills, discovered tips and tricks, and successfully completed increasingly complex projects. All of this was met with positive feedback from the people I showed my creations to.

This is how Sottil’Design was born, with the aim of crafting unique pieces (or small batches) using traditional methods, with a focus on the quality of the materials and the craftsmanship involved.
